VAIL, Colo. celebrates its 50th anniv. this Dec. One of America’s premier
ski resorts, now a 4-season destination.
This month the new state of the art Leitner-Poma of America gondola starts service. This 10 passenger beauty is dubbed as the fasted in NA with an increase of some 40% capacity. Michael Franti & Spearhead are on the card. On Dec. 15 VAIL’s 50th anniversary film premiers, a great way to bone up on the history of VAIL to present. On Feb.25-thru-March 2 visit the Burton US Snowboarding Open.This is the world’s longest running snowboarding competition. In 2013 the U.S.Alpine Ski Team returns for the third year. And in 2015 VAIL hosts the FIS World Alpine Ski Championships.

VAIL is part of the newly formed EPIC
Mix Racing group, a consortium of skiing 8 destinations in Colo.,Nevada and Calif. The areas include Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone in Colo., and Heavenly and Northstar in Calif. and Nevada.
