Julie Halston at Birdland
Julie is back! Mondays in March starting 3/4 at 7 pm. She does Broadway, comedy. and dance with fun, fashion and hilarity all in one. I first saw Julie last at Town Hall in NYC this pastJanuary at the
“11th Annual Nightlife Awards” produced by Siegel Presents! She coupled with Jimmy Caruso, the song and dance man who does his Monday night Cast Party at Birdland. She was great. Gottaseeher!
Julie has lots of credits. On Broadway she played Evangeline in the show stopper “Anything Goes.” Last season she was in Charles Busch’s play “The Divine Sister.” She’s also been in “Gypsy”, “Hairspray” and “The Boys from Syracuse.” She played next to Alec Baldwin in “On the Twentieth Century.” And her bit in “Vagina
Monologues” brought down the house.
Juli is dubbed “Classic Julie” for good reason. She does it all. And she’s been
tabbed for so many theater awards I can’t find room enough. But I know she’s a three-time Drama Desk nominee. She’s also a co-founder of the Theater-in-Limbo in NYC I’m told
along with her favorite partner, Charles Busch. On TV she was Bisy Von Muffling in “Sex and The City” and
Antigone Carruthers in the PBS showcase “The Electric Company.”
Outside the theater Julie has had a hand in the national medical service org, PFF, for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Go girl.
The phone at Birdland is: 212-581.3080. 7 days at 315 West 44th Street in NYC. And the food is good.
