See Historic Centennial Ball, Numerals Up Close at Enhanced Viewing Deck Experience at One Times Square

Home of the iconic Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball, One Times Square recently unveiled Times Travel, a new multi-sensory, immersive experience which takes guests through the history of Times Square and the New Year’s Eve Ball. On August 7th, 2026, it officially opened to the public. One Times Square, at Broadway between 42nd and 43rd Streets, was once the headquarters of The New York Times.

Times Travel transports visitors back in time through centuries of Times Square history, starting with “Times Machine,” a tech-enabled glass elevator showcasing the neighborhood’s evolution in seconds. Guests soar through 1930s-era Manhattan skies in “An Airship Above Manhattan” in which they ride in a virtual taxicab up Broadway past vintage marquees in “Decades of Change” before stepping into “Eternal Midnight,” where they experience the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop via a virtual zipline racing toward the countdown. Audiences can see five historic New Year’s Eve Balls up-close, including a replica of the original 1907 design and the retired “Big Ball” that presided over the area from 2008 through 2025. 

The experience concludes on the “Times Square Skywalk,” a 360-degree wraparound viewing deck with river-to-river views and a glass walkway 19 floors above the Times Square plazas. It offers a one-of-a-kind vantage point over the Crossroads of the World.
