OSPITALITA ITALIANA;The Authentic Italian Table

The Authentic Italian Table – the first annual presentation by the Italian-American Chamber of Commerce, hosted nearly 18 of the best known Italian restaurants  last night at Guastavino, a large event space under the Queensboro Bridge in New York City. Nearly 30 of the nation’s  leading purveyors of Italian food products now carry the IACCs official seal, OSPITALITA ITALIANA. The awards program was designed to celebrate authentic Italian products and services used in the restaurant trade and to introduce them to a more sophisticated audience of consumers  who appreciate authentic Italian cuisine. Among the restaurants awarded were: Alfredo of Rome, Amarone, Aroma Kitchen and Winebar, Azalea, Barola, Cacio e Vino, Circo, Il Capriccio, Il Corso, Il Gattopardo, Il Poeta, Luna Piena, Pinola, Salumeria Rossi, San Pietro, Tiella, Tramonti, Trattoria Cinque,  and Via Emilia.

The OSPITALITA ITALIANA is the IACCs Seal of Quality and is promoted by ISNART, Italy’s National Institute of Tourism which recognizes Italian restaurants and institutions world-wide that provide authentic Italian products to their customer base. Requirements for this prestigious award include provision for DOC Italian wines, use of menus that are error-free in the Italian language, the presence of a least one Italian-speaking restaurant staff member, and the exclusive use of Italian extra-virgin Italian oil.

The Italy-America Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization based in New York City and is one of the leading exponents of Italian products and services to the American marketplace.
