COOL NEW YORK 2011 DANCE FESTIVAL a hit!
Jan.29th shows, 7 and 9 p.m. were sold out. I sampled both and found a number of young, innovative and vibrant companies willing to shell it out to an eager public.
The festival is part of an ongoing celebration of the arts put on by the WHITE WAVE company under the direction of Ms.Young Soon Kim since 2004. Over 60 dance companies in 19 performances are highlighting the program which started on Jan.27-through Feb. 3. Programs are scheduled on weekends, evenings, Thurs.-thru-Sun. And the price is right. Free, except for donations which are voluntary.
The theatre is located at 25 Jay Street in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood and is easy to get to by bus or train ( F ).
