11th NIGHTLIFE AWARDS
NYC-Monday, Jan.14 at TOWN HALL
celebrated the 11th annual NIGHTLIFE AWARDS.
Created by Scott Siegel/ Scott Siegel Entertainment and produced by Max Weintraub and Scott Siegel, and hosted by veteran showbiz raconteur, Bruce Vilanch, this was a star-studded evening for cabaret and nightclub comedy performers. In two acts and with 17 headliners, the evening run more than three hours.
Leslie Uggums sang in both parts starting off with her rendition of “LOVE” and ending with “ANY PLACE I HANG MY HAT IS HOME”, Mike Nadler sang “BILBAO SONG”, Emily Bergl-
“IT HAD TO BE YOU”, Kate McGarry-“WE KISS IN A SHADOW”. JIM CARUSO-” A SONG FOR MY FRIENDS”, Catherine Russell-” ROMANCE IN THE DARK”, and Marilyn Maye-“NEW YORK MEDLEY.” Add Bill Charlap with his personal rendition of own New York tunes and Julie Halston with her personal comedy sketch of life experiences in her New York and whow! you had an unparalleled evening of enjoyment.
Act II brought back Leslie Uggums who was followed by Lauren Fox who sang “BEFORE THE DELUGE” , Faith Prince and Jason Graae who sang- “THE PRINCE & THE SHOWBOY
MEDLEY”, ” EXCESS” and “THE BOY FROM”. They were followed by Jane Monheit who sang” STARDUST”, and
Carole Buford who sang-“CRY ME A RIVER”, and James Barbour who sang-“MEASURE OF A MAN”. Jessica Kirson added some very flavorful Yiddish humor to round out the second half of the show.
