LTR’s August showcase: Discover PUGLIA, Italy’s Green Gold focuses on Italy’s fast paced region for Tour & Travel, loaded with historical artifacts, fabulous food, and a warm and sunny climate. It holds a trove of classical architecture/ Norman and Baroque, and World Heritage sites. As “the “heel” of Italy, it has the country’s largest geographical presence and produces the country’s largest amount of olive oil, wine and agricultural products. Follow us as we ride through its core discovering its unique terrain and hospitality.

John Mustaro
President of the United Pugliese Federation in New York
John Mustaro is president of the United Pugliese Federation in New York whose mission is to foster a relationship between the Region of Puglia, Italy,and their counterparts in the U.S. Founded in 1989 the NYPA is celebrating its 25th year. One of its programs, Amelia dela Pugliese, i is aimed at educating young professionals to the cultural contributions that the region has to offer. It Also produces a number of concerts, forums, and seminars through its Puglia Week programs. On August 16 they’re presenting Uaragniaun In Concert at the National Opera Center in NYC, an evening of Pugliese music/ 718-837.0876. Finally in the Fall they’re planning a Taste of Puglia Expo.

Nicola
Native of Puglia opened Tempo
Nicola, a native of Puglia opened Tempo, his first restaurant in NYC in 1970 for which he received two stars from Ruth Reichl, the NY Times Dining Out editor. In 1994 Nicola opened i Trulli Enoteca, specializing in the food and wines of Puglia., and where he and his mother Dona Marzovilla participate daily in preparing the traditional dishes of the region. Safe to say the wine cellar at i Trulli is one of the most unique in the city with more than 450 Wines from Italy. And yes, he also produces his own olive oil and wine labels from his land in Puglia.
