Ft.Lauderdale, FL., Venice of America

Ft. Lauderdale, aka the Venice of America has more navigable waterways
for boating, for leisure craft, than even Venice, Italy would you believe?
Sight visit the homes of the rich and famous by the city’s popular Water Taxi that makes a dozen stops, seven-days-a week, using one of their friendly boat captains as guides And the city is no longer the “Spring Break” capital due to a set of new ordinances. There’s Theater at the Broward Center for the Arts and at the BB& T Center; there’s a bunch of 5-star restaurants on the inner city’s Riverwalk; there’s lush, sandy beaches at Hollywood that are maintained daily along with its popular 2.5 mile boardwalk; there’s Gulfstream Park in Hollandale for racing fans and Jai Alai in Dania; there’s a coterie of museums and botanical gardens in Coconut Grove, Davie, Seminole, i.e., Butterfly World, Flamingo Gardens,Okalee Indian Village, and for a taste of the remaining wildlife in South Florida there’s the Florida Everglades National Park. If your a swim buff there’s the International Swimming Hall of Fame in the city proper and the Antique Car Museum.
If you’re into history, there’s the History Center and the Old Dillard Museum in the city’s center. For more on what Greater Ft. Lauderdale has to offer you try : twitter.com/ visitlauderdale.or facebook.com/ visitlauderdale. The best part is that the city’s airport, the Ft.Lauderdale/
Hollywood International Airport is less than one-half hour by taxi to the
city’s center. JetBlue is the largest transport from NYC with over 100 flights in season expected by 2015 along with their popular wide-body A320’s seating up to 150 passengers and with 100 channels of XM Satellite Radio and Broadband/ WiFi service on board to soothe you. If you’re into cruising there’s Port Everglades, fast becoming the leading cruise center for leisure travelers. For this try: www.porteverglades.net
